Stephan: the user may change the icon theme, and in another icon theme, the launch icon may be something completely different, that is more precise to the notion of another of the usage of launch, thus making no sense in kdesktop. Anyway, I'm not sure of the other usages of launch, so I'll leave the decision to you. Just wanted you to think about it and comment that Oswald's comment was right in 99% of the cases where someone changes one icon for another.
