Excellent, goal reached then. Thanks. Will also submit the 
sleep( 1000 ) in QApp::QApp improvement patch in a few ;)

Convincing arguments. Please revert my commit. I really should've
checked the startup time thingy before. I should've figured that
QTextCodec uses the same braindead mechanism as the designer. Sorry.
