You can disagree, but if it's optional (read: not in kdelibs or kdebase)
then it's non-essential (even if it's in kdeartwork or kdegraphics or
whatever)

That's what I'd like to know, what are those extra efforts you're doing?
Keeping them in kdenetwork instead of where they belong? (kdeartwork)

That's talking nonsense. Why do you say that? Do you really think we want
kit have no icon in its toolbars or somewhere else? If you remove those
hi* icons and keep cr* icons kit will have the correct icons shown.

Well, I've never painted icon themes (and you said you didn't neither) so
definitely none of us can mantain it. If you want to continue tackat's
work and paint new icons for kdeclassic, you're very welcome to do so...
but in the correct place.

If you want KDE to distribute two icon themes on kdelibs, just propose it
clearly, but to the correct place (/dev/nu^H^H^H^H... hmmm, kde-core-devel
;-) note it was a joke because I think it's clear we don't want to
distribute two icon themes)

I've been out of the lists for some months, so maybe it was discussed at
that time. Anyway, the result was clear and crystal is the default.

We can't support every icon theme on all modules in cvs.
I still can't see, what's the problem with you mantaining kdeclassic on
kdeartwork/IconThemes/kdeclassic instead of kdenetwork/kit and
kdemultimedia/kaboodle ?

You're welcome.
