Except that the syntax for this file is quite tricky... someone who knows that
syntax surely knows how to create a .magic file in the right dir anyway
(given docu). Of course one could also create a complete dialog with
a combo for the type of data and more widgets to help creating that
magic line..... but that's quite some work for a feature that no user requested
up to now. Hence the question whether this is really useful and worth it.
I'd be tempted to say that this is more of a distributor thing, people creating their
own data format can provide a .magic file with it.
