The patch says among others:
    "This option allows you to embed the missing fonts into the PostScript data generated "
    "by KDE applications. 

The 'missing' is kind of confusing here; how can you embed something that is not
there in the first place.
Plus; is this limited to kde applications; I thought this is a QT setting ?

I guess you mean that 
    This options will automatically put fonts in the PostScript file which are
    not present on the printer.
