Don't you have by any chance the kdesupport libraries and kdelibs=20 installed also from distribution packages? You can try an ldd=20 path_to_kde4/bin/sopranocmd or ldd path_to_kde4/bin/ksmserver and see=20 if all libraries are picked up from your user install dir or not.
