I think only until the new build system is stable because maintaining two 
buildsystems is a waste of time.

no, because Makefile.am's are platform or at least compiler specific in some 
areas and It will probably  not possible to convert the stuff completly 
automatically.

There will be no such distinction in the future. The Sconscript will replace 
all by one and will be parsed online, which mean changes to SConscripts could  
be performed immediatly
