I think that something is wrong with what ever handles the applets. Because third \
party applets like xmms-kde won't show up on the menu bar. It shows up as an option \
in the rightclick menu bar->add->applet menu but won't come up when you click on it. \
thx hope you fix it is soon and great job so far on kde. oh and on a side note you \
should look into making the file manager act like ACDSee. That will make you be one \
step ahead( in my book) of the Evil Empire.
