This seems to happen when the domain name is not set.
In other words, if you want to disable the existing dns servers,
you must set a non empty domain name.

Otherwise you will get the existing dns servers before
the ones added by kppp, despite having checked 
the 'disable existing dns' box.
This is extremely confusing.

This is still true in the 2.2 branch.
