XIM does not work in KOffice 1.1 Beta3. XIM works fine in RC1 or
current CVS. :)
Does XIM work besides KWord ? For example, Kate, KWrite KEdit, KMail,
KSpread, KPresenter ... etc.
try (from Konsole):
export LANG=ja_JP.eucJP
export XMODIFIERS="@im=kinput2"
kinput2 &
kwrite&
And push shift + space Key. Did XIM work ?
If Japanese is displayed with "?", font is a problem.
You don't use Anti-Aliasing ?
Please set a character set name in "jis0208.1983-0" to let you
display Japanese then. If you use Anti-Aliasing, you don't need to
set it. If font has "jis0208.1983-0", good.
If you don't have Japanese True Type font, please get here.

This is "fonts.dir" for MS Gothic and MS Mincho.
