Yes, there's is a difference :-)
What i thought of was an automated "apply 'smooth' filter after scaling"
This should reduce the smaller quaders a little bit. It is most usesful if the
pics of my fullscreen presention have about half the size of the
screen resolution. Ehm, I'm talking about JPEGs, for sure.

(From what I heard, is the wavelet compression of the new JPEG2000
format designed to avoid these aweful things.)
