My binutils version is 2.10.0.18... The linker bug discussed in the FAQ 
recommends upgrading to >= 2.10... also, Konqueror's shell output does not 
mention the undefined symbol which the FAQ refers to. You can find a copy of

I'm going to upgrade my binutils anyway to see if it helps. I'll let you know 
what I get.
