Subject: Bug#27953: consistent crashes in help subsystem of all kde apps
From: tech () bishop ! dhs ! org
Date: 2001-07-01 5:51:42
[Download RAW message or body]
Package: khtml
Version: KDE 2.2.0 Beta1
Severity: normal
Installed from: Debian Packages
Compiler: gcc 2.95.4
OS: Linux
OS/Compiler notes: latest debian/sid
Open any kde app, select help->contents.Wait for it to load, the click on "introduction". Then \
click on "next". The viewing window will go blank and an error message pops up saying "the \
process for the help protocol died unexpectedly". If it doesn't crap out the first time you \
click next, it will the second. This is 100% reproducible on my system, and aparently on others \
(checked via debian-kde@lists.debian.org). The help browser does not crash in the traditional \
sense of the word, in that the whole window doesn't die, but the browsing portion is dead until \
you close and restart it.
