Isn't the real problem here that konqueror doesn't allow for https via proxies?

Other browsers have a proxy setting for https or 'security', however
konqueror only has proxy settings for the HTTP and FTP transports.

Ie,  shouldn't there also be an addition proxy setting for HTTPS
transport.
