Subject: Bug#26853: transparently open .gz files
From: Norbert.Nemec () gmx ! de
Date: 2001-06-07 6:30:11
[Download RAW message or body]
Package: kviewshell
Version: 0.1 (using KDE 2.1.2 )
Severity: wishlist
Installed from: Debian Package 4:2.1.2-1 (testing/unstable)
Compiler: gcc version 2.95.4 20010319 (Debian prerelease)
OS: Linux 2.4.4-pre3 i686
OS/Compiler notes:
This may be more fundamental than just to be solved at this point, but I stumbled \
over the problem here:
Trying to open a .dvi.gz file placed in a public (read-only) directory, I always had \
to uncompress it in some other directory, first. There's a lot of documentation like \
that coming along with tetex, and it would be really great if I could just browse \
everything transparently!
