Package: kword
Version: 1.1 (post-beta2) (using KDE 2.2.0 CVS/CVSup/Snapshot)
Severity: normal
Installed from: Compiled sources
Compiler: gcc version 2.95.2 19991024 (release)
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.4.0-4GB
OS/Compiler notes:

I wonder why noone else has noticed.
When writing a text with TTFs in KWord,
printed output is truncated.

For example, the lines

The big brown fox jumps over the
lazy dog

printout as
The big brown fox jumps over th
lazy doc
^ this to demonstrate that half of the "g"
 is truncated.
You get the idea. A few mm of output
(usually about one character) is
truncated. As my example
demonstrates, the length of the line does
not matter (meaning page borders are
no to blame for this behaviour).

It looks as if QRichTextWidget or whatever
you 're using underestimates the size of
every line before drawing it to the PS generation
device (just a wild guess)?

Regards,
Dimitris

Note: I don't know if this happens with Type1
fonts, too. I can' t check it, 'cause I have no
Type1 fonts in my system.

Oh: My ghostscript is AFPL 6.50, though it
probably doesn't matter.
My QT is 2.3.0, and my X11 is 4.0.3. kdelibs,
kdebase, koffice are latest (26/5/2001) CVS.
