Hello,

I am very glad of the new KDE version, except one BIG thing for me. It
seems it is a bug, however I don't see it in the database, but it is not
easy to see...

I work in the frenche KDE, so I am not sure of some words...

The "child panels" ("mini tableaux de bord") are for me very precious,
because the task bar is too little for gathering the icons I want to see
for launching programs.

So I do (for instance on the K button, right button) :
Panel menu --> Add --> Extension --> Child panel
A child panel is then created, I put it on the left (good idea for many
KDE programs to put tool bars on the right, when we have a 19" screen...)
Then I add icons on the child panel. Very well...

But, but, when I leave KDE and come back, the mini panel is empty...

I am in KDE 2.1, Mandrake 8.0.

I searched in the preferences, nothing...

I have the same problem on a second installation on another PC...

I asked on a Mandrake mailing list, nothing...

However, in the directory .kde/share/config, a file
childpanelextension_r4ddzbimi7fufdiuomu_rc contains all informations of
the full child panel, and it is updated when I add new icons (replacing
the first ones...)

For me, it is very important in my comfort, and I had this child panel
(other name...) in Mandrake 7.0. Is it a real bug ? Is there something to
do for correcting this ?

Yes, I hope you will explain me how to correct this disfunction, and I
think it will be good to write it on the KDE site...

Thanks.
