Sir, 
	This version of xfs has been spaecially patched to support True Type fonts  
(I am now on rh7.1) and they have given documentation for how to install M$ 
ttf fonts and use it.
So there is no question of support for ttf fonts.

Also this problem never arises in gnome!
This problem arises in kde also only when we try to change FIXED WIDTH FONTS .
So don't think that font server doesn't support ttf.
