When run from gnome, i.e., not from kde desktop, the text cursof sometimes disappears \
in the message editor window, making it "somewhat" hard to edit.  More rarely, the \
mouse cursor disappears on entering the message editor window.

Closing the message window and starting a new message gets the cursors back.  \
Obviously, this is not a nice way to deal with the problem.
