When running kde 2.0+ apps over vnc (tridiavnc) the apps crash with the error: 

Xlib: extension "RENDER" missing on display ":1.0"
KCrash: crashing ... crashRecursionCounter =2
KCRash: Application Name = kab path = <unknown>
Xlib: extension "RENDER" missing on display ":1.0"
kdeinit: Fatal IO error: client killed

this happens with all kde programs, kmail, koffice, kab, etc
