Hi Chuck,

It seems to me that there must be something in the code for the auto-hide
feature of the K-Panel that is causing this bug.

My problem first appeared after I had switched the panel to auto-hide, and
then back to normal. If I hold the mouse over the panel, it does not go back
to the bottom of the screen, I must go into the settings for the panel and
move it to another location, and then back to the bottom location to restore
it. Using the side tab in my case does not restore it either.

I was using a Goldstar 15 inch model 1465Dls monitor at 1024X768 pixels and
16 million colors but have switched to a B1996NSL 19 inch monitor by LiteOn
Technology at 1024X768 pixels and 16 million colors. My video card is a
Diamond Stealth 3D 2000 using the S3 Virge 325PCI chip. I have the same
problem with both monitors. The system is a custom built P233MMX with 64MB
of RAM, however I am awaiting shipment of an AM Computech Hercules Pro
1.1GHz Athlon Thunderbird system with 512MB of SDRAM and an Nvidia GeForce
32Mb video card. I plan to run Linux on that system once it arrives. If I
have the same problem on it, then it would seem that the solution must lie
in re-writing the code pertaining to the auto hide feature of the K-Panel.
Finding what part of the code is causing the problem will be the fun part!

Thanks for your input.

David

Hi there,

I sent some info on this bug a couple of days ago but I have some
more info. First let me describe my hardware:
HP 9680C PIII at 650Mhz - 128MB of Ram - NVIDIA video card
ViewSonic A90 19" Monitor. Set at 1280x960 with 65 million colors.

As I said in the last report, IF I have panel hiding enabled, on
re-boot the panel will come up 1/3 of the way from the bottom and about
1/3 to short. I move my mouse and the panel will go to the bottom. I
then use the side tab to collapse it and then restore it. It fills the
bottom of the screen like it should after that. However, I have noticed
that on boot-up the panel will flash the proper size, in proper position
before it comes up to short and out of position. Again this is all with
hiding enabled.
I disabled hiding and re-booted. This time the panel came up the
proper size but it was about half an inch above the bottom of the
screen. I could not get it to move to the bottom untill I enabled
hiding. Then it disappeared and reappeared in proper position along the
bottom. Seems to have something to do with hiding.
Thanks,
Chuck
