Compare the rendering of the following file:
=======
<html>
<head>
<style type="text/css">
<!--
#free1 { font-size:36pt; color:#E0E0E0; margin-left:3cm;
margin-bottom:0.5cm; }
#free2 { font-size:18pt; font-weight:bold; color:#00CCCC;
margin-left:2cm;
margin-top:-1.2cm; margin-bottom:1cm;}
#free3 { font-size:48pt; color:#EEDDBB; margin-left:0cm;
margin-top:-1.6cm; margin-bottom:0cm;}
#free4 { font-size:96pt; color:#FFAAFF; margin-left:2cm;
margin-top:-2.8cm; margin-bottom:1cm;}
// -->
</style>
</head>
<body>
<a id="free1" href="linux.html">linux</a>
<a id="free2" href="LinuX.html">LinuX</a>
<a id="free3" href="stories.html">Stories</a>
<a id="free4" href="pub.html">Publications</a>
</body>
</html>
======
with that of the same file, but with <a>...</a> replaced by <p>...</p>.

With <a>, the text is juxtaposed, with <p> it is (correctly) on top of
each other.

Marc

BTW: The mis-rendering that occurs with this file, when you move the
style sheet definitions into a separate .css file, is still there (just
hit reload if you don't see it).
