Subject: Bug#22829: choose font locks font server and KControl
From: adam () trustcommerce ! com

Package: kcontrol
Version: KDE 2.1.0
Severity: normal
Installed from: RedHat RPMs
Compiler: Not Specified
OS: Linux
OS/Compiler notes: Not Specified
I have an almost stock RH7.0 system. One exception is that I installed the 100dpi \
fonts, and I also have some TrueType fonts, which may be affecting this. All of my \
fonts work great in KDE, the Gimp, etc, with one exception.
Somehow my fixed width font got set to Helvetica (which isn't fixed width). I go \
into KControl to try to change it; when I click the "Choose" button, KControl locks \
up (needs a kill -9), and the X Font server dies, requiring me to restart X.
Unfortunatley I also can't seem to figure out where the font settings are in the \
configuration files, so I can't change it by hand either. :( There's a "fixedfont" \
entry in .kderc, but it doesn't seem to do anything.
