Thats funny because they both use nearly the same code. 

It would be nice if you could give us some more information:

Please check the entries you've made under 
Setting->Configure KNode->Signing/Verifying - make sure 
they are correct. 
After that start knode from the command line, capture 
the output and send it to me. 

KNode works for me with GnuPG 1.0.3 - maybe there is a 
small difference to GnuPG 1.0.4...
