It looks as if Kmix configured properly for my Creative Sound Blaster Live sound \
board although it does not control anything.  All the slider controls for bass, \
treble, volume, etc... look great but they don't affect the sound.   This is in my my \
user account only, my root account won't play sound at all.  With the initial  \
release of Mandrake 7.2 my sound card would not configure by itself at all for any \
account.  I always had to run the old Red Hat "sndconfig" command to configure my \
card and while I don't feel that it was configured perfectly it always seemed to work \
pretty well.  Most of my problems began after using the on-line software upgrade to  \
KDE final.  I've noticed that now even sndconfig is unable to configure my sound card \
properly.  Help!
