Now that I know you're using an IDE drive, can you please tell me how
old is your copy of KDE2? I 'fixed' some IDE problem on Nov 07 and it
looks like you're having this problem.

(If you compiled kdemultimedia yourself, just uncomment the FAST_IDE define
in kdemultimedia/kscd/libwm/include/wm_config.h and do a 'make install'
in libwm)
