The charset support was mainly written by someone from Poland and someone
from Russia, that is not the problem, I also can test it although I'm from
Germany, but most mails I write of course in iso-8859-1.

I think it would be helpful, plese copy some representative mails into a new
mailbox, gzip it and send it to kmail@kde.org. Please be aware, the we might
be able to understand something of the content :-)
