Okay, I had that crash again, here's what happend (at least the "no 
message is selected" part is repdoducible). This time I have a backtrace, 
too.

-selected an empty folder
-Fetched mail
-3 new mails arrived in this folder, the one in the middle is selected
-press the delete key: now no message is selected (this is reproducible)
-now use the mouse to select another message: crash (difficult to 
reproduce)

To me it looks like the problem is in this line in 
KMReaderWin::updateReaderWin():
  mMsgBuf = mMsg;
Perhaps mMsg isn't valid after some time?
