Upon login there is a core file in my home directory.
Core file was caused by signal 6 in artsd.

Machine info:	
	RedHat 6.2 Nec Versa LX w/ PII-266 
	Soundcard Maestro with standard RH driver.
		This driver does not implement /dev/sndstat.
		Yet /dev/dsp and sox work nicely.

Starting artsd by hand says:

It does not crash, but there is still no sound...
