I have experienced the following multiple times, so I don't think it was just
a bad coincidence with no relation to the renaming:

I renamed a bunch of files in one directory via RMB->Properties, one after each other.
I have FAM installed, but currently not imon because when I last looked there wasn't one
for 2.4 kernels. Therefore, it takes some ~1-2 secs from hitting OK in the props dialog till
Konqui will display the new name (strange thing: the renamed file immediately disappears
from the view and reappears after those 1-2 secs with its new name).
Anyway, this sequence causes X to lock up:
1) open the props for file A
2) change its name, hit OK
3) open the props for file B
4) change its name, hit OK
if 4) happens to be at the time konqui is updating the view after the FAM event for 2),
the props dialog for file B will remain as an empty window and X is locked.
I can still move the pointer, the clock in kicker still updates etc. but the only way out
is Alt-SysRq
