Under certain circumstances it is (nearly) impossible to select a file from 
the File-Dialog.

steps to reproduce:

1) change your settings to:
    a) single click  [kcontrol - Peripherals - Mouse] AND
    b) Automatically select icons [kcontrol - Peripherals - Mouse]
2) start konqueror
3) Open Location - Open Filedialog
4) Enter, for example, the directory "/dev" -> There you can see lots of 
"files" [5 columns and 9 rows]
5) Now try to select a file in the third row and in the second column.
-> That´s not really convenient because after you´ve selected it, you have to 
take care that you are not moving over an other icon with your mouse.
Because if so then that file would be selected.
