Hello,

I have some additional informations to this behaviour:

1. It doesn't matter if the account is the second one. If it is the only one, 
it is the same.

2. This behaviour is only present if the mailbox is "Advanced POP3". The old
POP3-Type is working.

3. This error does only occur with one mail server. Other mail servers are
running. As I said, it is a linux server running qmail-pop3d. In my last mail 
I said, that there is another server running qmail and kmail doesn't have any 
problems with that server. I have noticed that this server is NOT running 
qmail-pop3d, it is running cucipop. Maybe qmail-pop3d does something kmail 
doesn't like.

I have created a test account, where you can reproduce this:

Server: pop3.ailis.de
Account: kmail
Password: kmail

You can notice, that polling this server is working with a "Standard 
POP3-Account" all the time but with an "Advanced POP3-Account" it is failing 
very often and sometimes it is working.

I hope this is enough information to find the problem.
