Bug ID: 347200
Summary: HDMI to VGA adapter doesn't work on 5.3.0
Product: KScreen
Version: 5.3.0
Platform: Archlinux Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: major
Priority: NOR
Component: common
Assignee: dvratil@kde.org
Reporter: yyc1992@gmail.com
Here's a list of what I've seen. It's hard for me to tell what's wrong and/or
which component is causing a issue. I can provide more info if necessary.
1. The screen is recognized but somehow always disabled by default and appears
at the up right corner in kcm.
2. The output was fine with a real HDMI output but doesn't work with a HDMI to
VGA converter
3. The output can be on for a few seconds but it is then disabled/disappeared
along with really badly screen flashing.
4. The output button takes seconds to response and sometimes doesn't response
at all (the interface is not frozeon though)
5. The KCM module sometimes crashes when returing to the main menu
6. The resolution is sometimes reseted to a random value. Also, most of the
time after the extra screen is disabled, the slidebar for selecting resolution,
the number below that bar and the size on the preview window don't agree.
7. Problem only appears if a VGA screen (or the VGA screen) is pluged in.
8. krunner somehow crashed twice when I unplug the screen.
Reproducible: Always
