I tested again after a fresh reboot with compositor disabled: no change.
The "23% CPU load" I wrote before applies to "top" in "Irix mode", i.e. 23% of
one core CPU time.

I can test v2.8.0-467-g1527da7 again tomorrow with the integrated Intel
graphics enabled only.
But with the distribution v.2.8 Amarok I experienced the same behaviour before.
