OK, I'll see what I can figure out. Until then, try using the --no-async
cmdline flag to disable async mode.

This will make things slower but it's the only thing that needs IPC, so
hopefully the error would go away (let me know if it works though, and whether
it exposes a different error or if it successfully runs).
