So I don't think its likely the post-hibernation memory decay issue hypothesized above. However, I would like to confirm that disabling/re-enabling compositing does indeed fix it here as well. My problem previously was that you can't toggle compositing from the lockscreen, which is what I had enabled post-dehibernation.
