I talked with the Kubuntu main packager and he says that extra-cmake-modules
only exist on Kubuntu 14.10 and later. So you have the alternatives to either
a) upgrade your distro or b) build kde frameworks 5 yourself with kdesrc-build.
I have used the Virtual Machine method myself for almost a year now and I am
very happy with my OpenSuse 13.2 VM. I'm pretty sure that VirtualBox with a VM
with a late Kubuntu would work just as well. That way you can avoid upgrading
your main machine if you don't want to.
