Bug ID: 343640
Summary: Recipients name from addressbook is put into quotes
(not conform to RFC 5322)
Product: kmail2
Version: 4.13.3
Platform: Kubuntu Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: NOR
Component: composer
Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
Reporter: sskyman@web.de
The recipients real name is put into quotes when selecting from addressbook.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Compose a new mail.
2. Type the name of recipient in the To: field
3. Select the wished recipient and press enter.
Actual Results:
The To: field contains the following string (including the quotes): "John Doe"
<john.doe@example.org>
John Doe is saved without quotes in the addressbook.
Expected Results:
It should be read: John Doe <john.doe@example.org>
So without enquoting the real name of the recipient. In my opinion there is no
need for the quotes as there is nothing that is quoted.
As far as I can see this is also the suggested format from RFC 5322:
https://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc5322#appendix-A.1.1
