I have figured out what to do that causes this.  To make the menu run away, one
has to move rapidly, not slowly over the desktop changer that is to the right
of the K menu.  In the attached video, you'll see the transitions.  When I run
straight up, rapidly or slowly, no problem.  When I run over the desktop
changer, it's fine if I do it slowly, but it runs away when I do it quickly.

Note that in the video I never clicked the mouse except to open the menu.  When
you see it closing, it's doing it by itself.
