I am sorry for the lack of detail. This was a bit unex[ected so I just tried to
work through it. It was a link (like a shortcut or alias) and linux had simply
erased the icon. I was not able to follow it as Dolphin didn't even know they
USED to be links. I did perform a search and found 2 of the 3 and simply
deleted the old links and replaced them. The third, regretably, was my user
file backup on my 2nd HD I use for windows. I am now wondering if the NTFS and
(I canb't believe I forgot and had to Google) EXT4. Could ext4 have really lost
files that were stable on an NTFS disk? Also is it safe to make EXT4 backups
onto NTFS? do I need to modify the files to makes sure NTFS wont mess with them
if I move them over in Linux?

Tim

Thanks for the bug report, but I'm afraid I don't quite understand what the
problem is, so it is impossible for me to try and reproduce the problem, let
alone try to analyze and fix it. What do you mean if you say "I deleted one
directory link when ot had lost ability for Dolphin to recognize it"? Is is a
symbolic link to a directory, a desktop-file link, or something else? What were
the symptoms that made you think that Dolphin cannot recognize it?

Please provide detailed step-by-step instructions that we can use to reproduce
the problem. If possible, the steps should include the creation of the
"directory link". If in doubt, always describe the problem in as much detail as
possible. Sometimes, also a screenshot that shows an error message or anything
that looks incorrect on the screen may help.

Thanks for your help!
