Hi Mikaƫl, 

looks like you are an experienced sed user. How about to try fixing your
problem by fixing the syntax file in kate?:-)

In regular installations of kate, you can find the file under
/usr/share/kde4/apps/katepart/syntax/sed.xml. The description of how this works
can be found here
http://kate-editor.org/2005/03/24/writing-a-syntax-highlighting-file/.

The patches are always welcomed by kate maintainers. So what do you say?:)
