regarding you statement: "generally most of people consider x/0 as +ve infinity
if x is +ve and vice versa."

I would reply with two things:

1. The limit of 1/x as x->0 is not the same as saying 1/0 = ∞.
2. Most people aren't particularly well versed in the math beyond the high
school level. Just because an idea is popular, doesn't mean it is correct.
