Hi,

Thanks for the report. Skanlite does not try to set either A4 or Letter. 

The preview size is the maximum size of the scan area (flatbed or ADF). This
size is returned by the scanner backend.

Skanlite was designed with photo scanning in mind and would need a separate UI
for document scanning. Document scanning has different needs and definitely
would need those A4/Letter settings...

I have been waiting for contributions for document scanning but so far I have
not got any. Nobody seems interested and I myself have a limited time for this
kind of fun :(
