I do have the same problem with a Lenovo Thinkpad T440s. I also do have a
workaround for the suspend loop described in comment 8:
Apparently the first battery is drained until it's at 5% and then the system
uses the second battery. Simply setting the critical level to 4% lets me use
the second battery.
