Bug ID: 323060
Summary: Kate fails to recover right parentheses after crash
Classification: Unclassified
Product: kate
Version: Git
Platform: Compiled Sources
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: NOR
Component: general
Assignee: kwrite-bugs-null@kde.org
Reporter: jschroeder@multiadsolutions.com
When attempting to recover data after a crash, right parentheses are missing
from the recovered data.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Choose a file to open, or create a new one:
touch ~/foo.txt
2. Open aforementioned file:
kate ~/foo.txt
3. Add some text that includes one or more right-parentheses:
asdf();
4. Do something to cause kate to quit unexpectedly:
killall kate
5. Open the file again:
kate ~/foo.txt
6. Kate indicates the file was not closed properly.
Click 'Recover Data'.
7. Recovered data is missing all right parentheses:
asdf( ;
Actual Results:
All right parentheses are missing (turned into spaces?) from recovered data.
Expected Results:
Right parentheses should be recovered correctly with the rest of the data.
I am using a compiled version from a git clone. The most recent commit in my
clone is f975e499d4272cc9eedaa4daccc44ad114f09632.
I'm unsure if 'general' is the right component for this.
