Unfortunately I will not be able to do this (attach debugging trace). While
investigating for this (rather cumbersome) crashing behavior, I upgraded many
rpms from OpenSUSE repos, including the KDE 4.10 rpms. Given that this didn't
solve the crashes, I decided to try to take note of a reproducible
configuration for crashes and I reinstalled my faulty machine with OpenSUSE
12.2 from scratch, including the KDE 4.9.3 rpms and the playground
phonon-backend-vlc and phonon libs.

I am sorry to say that after reinstallation I am no more able to reproduce the
crashes. And I can't say how to obtain a configuration which will trigger them.
