Commit in comment above fixes it in the non-compositing mode.
Since I can't reproduce the issue in compositing mode with trunk (== KDE 4.10),
I consider this bug as fixed. 
It is still a mystery though, that Dotan could trigger the issue in compositing
mode with KDE 4.9 whereas I could not. 

Feel free to reoppen if the issue persists. (with oxygen)
