So ... with 4.9 + compositing ON, I cannot reproduce either, and was not
expecting to.
Input window is square (you can even check for windows not in the corner). This
is because no mask is set in the code, and besides, the actual window also
extends to include the shadows ... so I'm confused.
I've always been able to reproduce this bug only when compositing is OFF ...
