I agree, the fact that there is something on my desktop that is forced upon me
goes against the very nature of Linux in the first place. KDE is still my
favorite desktop, but there is a lot of clutter that doesn't belong, I think
things can be consolidated quite a bit. There is nothing within the cashew icon
I can't already do elsewhere on the desktop.
