I have that crash too, but I can not reproduce it with the description above.

Preparation:
- open kdevelop
- open some projects (one should be enought but the more the better)
- open some files (one should be enough too*)
- close kdevelop

now for the crash, time matters you have to be fast here, thats why more
projects & more files are better.

Crash:
- open kdevelop again (the last session with open files&projects)
- quickly click File -> Close All
- crash

kdevelop+kdevplatform git master (1-2 days old)
Qt-4.8.2
KDE 4.9.0
